SourceLibrary lets AI tools search translated ancient texts
SourceLibrary.org shared a large online library of translated ancient and Renaissance texts. It says it has more than 15,000 books, plus searchable images. Claude Code or Codex can use it through MCP or an API, so an AI tool can search and quote source texts instead of guessing.
Key points
- The library covers texts from languages like Latin, Greek, Chinese, Sanskrit, Arabic, and Hebrew.
- It says most Latin Renaissance writing is still not translated into English.
- Claude Code or Codex can connect through MCP or an API to search the collection.
- The project is open-source, with many scans from public domain material.
